Christmas can be a time of indulgence. Especially where food is concerned.
If you're not careful and watch what you eat and drink, you could be in trouble. For instance, too much fatty food eg take-aways, hamburgers, chips and sweets will really take it's toll on your weight and immune system.
Being around friends...lots of parties and dinners out, all tempt us into drinking too much alcohol. This really can affect our moods, our livers and our energy levels.
Why not then think smarter and try to avoid these pitfalls and prevent this attack of toxins on our bodies.
Below are just 4 of the important supplements that will help you over Christmas.
I always recommend the brand Metagenics (by Health World). Their toll free number is 1800 777 648, if you decide you'd like to try them. Many of my patients will already be familiar with these supplements.
1. G-Tox Express Powder - 1 teaspoon daily. Its' green and you mix it with a little apple juice or pineapple juice. It gives you instant energy to be able to keep up with all the activities over Xmas. It also speeds up your metabolism which will help you break down those extra fats. Contains spirulina, aloe vera, kelp, turmeric, potassium, zinc, cleavers and glutamine. Will also be excellent in January/Feb (after all the celebrations to help you detox).
2. Vegetarian Digestive Enzymes - take 1 tablet with each meal. These will help you digest and break down your food more efficiently (esp fats, proteins and carbohydrates) and absorb the nutrients from your foods. By doing this, it will prevent bloating, gas and indigestion. Who wants to feel bloated this Christmas?? Excellent to pop into your bag and take one if you are about to eat a very big meal such as Christmas day lunch!
3. Ultra Flora Restore DF capsules - A dairy free probiotic (keep in fridge), that enhances gut health and good bacterias to improve digestion. Excellent after taking antibiotics. A must for every healthy gut and bowel, especially over Christmas.
4. Neurocalm Tablets - One of my favourites. Within 10 minutes you are feeling calm and relaxed. They will also help you sleep solidly at night with no groggy feeling in the morning. Brillliant for those stressful days with any family members you may be forced to be around over Christmas or just the running around you have to do, to get things done before the big day. Contains herbs such as Zizyphus, Magnolia, Puerania and Passionflower. Take 2 tablets when needed.
So there's a few suggestions to help you get through the next few busy weeks of the year. Try and be as relaxed as you can. Don't forget to keep drinking lots of water and get as much rest as you can.
Bye for now,

Linda's "Top 15 ACNE Tips" ...
Many of us suffered the trauma of Acne as a teenager...
Our hormones went crazy and so did our emotions.
Acne is no fun at all!
Even adults can continue to have Acne later in life. Usually there is a hormonal component (eg after childbirth or before a woman's period) or else the diet or too much stress can also be to blame.
If you implement these 15 things into your daily life, your skin will DRAMATICALLY improve within no time...
1. Drink 2 litres of water each day (this does not include tea or coffee).
2. Make a hot lemon with fresh ginger tea each morning
3. Have 3g of Pure Fish Oils or 1 dessertspoon of Flaxseed Oil each day (remember to keep all oils in the refrigerator).
4. Eat one big crunchy salad 1 - 2 x day and 3 pieces of fruit
5. REMOVE SUGAR and DAIRY FOODS from your diet (ie anything from a cow which is very congestive to the skin, liver and lungs).
6. Drink fresh vegetable and fruit juices every day eg carrot, lemon, apple, parsley, celery, ginger and pineapple.
7. Check your HORMONE LEVELS (esp testosterone, oestrogen and progesterone) with blood tests, then balance those hormones using Herbal Medicine (check with your naturopath).
8. Stay calm and do what you have to do to REMOVE STRESS
9. Don’t touch or pick your face (this will only transfer bacteria and can scar your skin).
10. Wash skin daily with Sea Salt water washes (warm water) and lightly moisturize with a natural moisturizer.
11. Check for FOOD SENSITIVITIES/ALLERGIES with a blood test from your Naturopath.
12. Eat plenty of FIBRE to ensure your Bowel Movements are at least 2 x day, soft and easy to pass. This will improve elimination of toxins and waste material from the body.
13. Visualise yourself having clear, glowing skin. Keep your mind focussed on the end result of perfect skin you are proud of.
14. Learn to Meditate every day for 15 minutes each day (at a quiet time of day).
15. Remove or reduce Alcohol, Cigarettes and other harmful substances.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask me....
I wish you all GREAT SKIN!
